Product Description

This rambling mint bush is found across south eastern Australia in moist forests and around waterways. The thin, soft serrated and pointed leaves are found in pairs on long running branches, tipped with delicate mauve florets. This is a subtle Australian native herb with the taste and aroma of spearmint. Indigenous Australians also used this herb for medicinal purposes. Use as a replacement for regular mint in sauces, salads, dressings, dips, roasts, desserts, teas and cocktails. May be used dried or fresh. Mint powders are considered an aid to the digestive system. It is an appetite stimulant and aids in the secretion of gastric juices. Mint was originally used as a medicinal herb to treat stomach ache and chest pains, and it is commonly used in the form of tea as a home remedy to help alleviate stomach pain. During the Middle Ages, dried and powdered mint leaves were used to whiten teeth. Mint tea is a strong diuretic. Mint also aids digestion, in a way that it breaks down the fats. In recent years, it has been often recommended for treating obesity.
